What is self storage?

Self storage is a service that allows you to rent secure storage units to store your personal or business belongings for short-term or long-term periods.

Bay Storage does NOT provide insurance for your goods when using our facility. Insurance of your goods is solely your responsibility and while it is not compulsory, we recommend all goods stored are insured and suggest you check with your insurance provider to see if you already have cover for items in storage. Do not assume that your home contents insurance covers stored goods.
You are prohibited from storing the following: – Hazardous, flammable or noxious goods – Illegal goods – Food or perishables – Stolen goods – Harmful or explosive goods
We have 10ft and 20ft shipping containers available as well as parking spaces for boats, motorhomes, cars, trucks etc. All of our shipping containers are high spec, wind and water tight and rodent proof.
Yes! If you need storage at your place, we provide off-site lease containers and can arrange delivery to and from your address.

We can deliver throughout Bay of Plenty, including Whakatane, Opotiki, Te Kaha, Waihau Bay, Kawerau, Matata, Edgecumbe, Te Teko, Taneatua, Rotorua, Te Puke, Paengaroa, Papamoa, Welcome Bay and beyond.

You have all keys. Your personal padlock secures the locking system on your storage unit door. We have padlocks for sale on site. The premises are accessed and secured via a monitored key fob access and night lights and security cameras.

Yes, our facility has state-of-the-art security features including security fencing with barbed wire surrounding the entire area, electronic security gate, 24/7 CCTV with remote access to owners, advanced security lighting at night, record of who has entered and exited at what time and date, Each unit is individually locked using your personal padlock.
Yes, all of our shipping containers are full shipping spec, wind and water tight with marine ply flooring and 8 ventilation points. It is very important to ensure your goods are clean, dry and free from vermin and bugs prior to moving in. We can only maintain your goods at the quality they were at moving in.
You provide the padlock to your unit so only you, and anyone else you choose to provide with a key, has access. We have padlocks for sale on site.
Pricing & Payments
How much does it cost?
Prices start from $150/month. Give us a call to discuss your requirements or request a quote online.
Payment can be made via online bank transfer or paying via credit card online. We require payment a month in advance.
Upon signing up, we require payment for the first month in advance. Following on from this, you may pay either weekly, fortnightly or monthly in advance. If you need to make alternative payment arrangements, just let us know so we can discuss options.
Our rentals are month-to-month with no long-term commitment required. We just require 1 month notice in advance of moving out.
No! Just your monthly storage payments and that’s it.

Give us a call as soon as you can if you need to discuss your payment situation. We will do our best to provide an alternative arrangement to suit your finances in times of need.

Please note that if you do not pay your rental fees, under the conditions of the Standard Self-Storage Agreement, we can deny access to your unit until payments are up to date.

If you continue to not make payment, we reserve the right to sell your goods to recover money owed.

Moving In
What is the process of moving in?
We require you to complete and sign a storage agreement and return it to us along with a copy of your drivers license or passport. Payment for the first month in advance is needed. Once these are completed, we set you up with your own unique pin code for the security entrance gate and then you are ready to move in when it suits you.

No, you will need to organise that yourself. We recommend using a great local company called Lettuce Know Logistics for a reliable and professional service.
